  1. Hi Joe;

    I too have been using your ALIX image for several months on my Alix 3d3 in an Amateur Radio VoIP application. As others have commented, it works very well and there have been zero issues!

    I would like to take your image and install it on a 4 or 5GB microdrive for use on a HP Thin Client. Any thoughts on this? – is this do’able?

    Thanks,

    Ramesh.

    Thank you for your kind words. As for the thin client: absolutely! Alix makes several devices, some of which have keyboard and monitor hookups, and these would be ideal as thin client hosts. I’m curious about the choice of a microdrive, especially for a thin client, since all of the user’s data and applications will be stored on the server, not the client. A thin client will have a much more stable image, and will be perfectly suited to a flash installation. Plus microdrives are outrageously expensive.

    Please help me understand your decision making process.
